Camacho Wedding

Josh and Jeanine got married last week! :) I am so happy for them. Jeanine assigned me the task of setting up the reception site...This is how it turned out:

Head table
Vases to go on the head table for bridesmaid's bouquets.
A cake for each table!

We had such a great time! I can't wait to see them in a few days, before they move to San Jose.

So school is about to start up again. I've kind of been thinking about changing my major...or staying in school and getting a double major, but at $2350/semester I won't be able to afford that. Right now I'm going to work on getting an event planning certificate, it's only 12 units, and I'm going to need more units for next semester when I only have one class to take. I've been thinking that maybe I want to work in a tasting room, and plan the events at a winery. Or even be a party planner or something along those lines. Who knows where I will end up.
This is what my summer has consisted of. Hanging out with Junior High girls. Some of the girls are the epitome of last year's mantra: "Boys, boys, boys. Text message, text message, text message." But mostly they're sweet girls trying to figure out who they are. Pray for more consistent female leaders to join us. With 25 seventh grade girls we're going to need more than two people leading life groups.

The never-ending hunt

Looking for a job is very aggravating. Fresno is in the top 5 worst places to find a job right now.
I have been able to read 5 books since school got out though. And gone on a few bike rides. So it's not ALL bad, not having a job. But I will eventually need some money, so the search continues.

Here's a picture of Coleman on our recent visit to Thousand Oaks, looking for a Blue Whale.
I would post the picture of the glimpse of Blue Whale that I took, but you wouldn't be able to tell unless you knew where exactly it was.

This final is absolutely insane. All of the questions have to be answered using outside sources, i.e. not from the lectures or book. I feel like I've had Senioritis for the last month and a half.
I'm thinking of getting a second degree, or minor. More on that when I have time.
On a lighter note, one of my friends is proposing to his girlfriend on Thursday. Pray for him, that even if things don't go exactly the way he planned, that they will turn out okay. He wants to propose at Woodward Park, so hopefully the weather is good. I'll have to tell you how he got the money for the ring another time, it's obvious that God was in it.

Spring Break!

Right now, I am reclined and sipping on some Bailey's. Delicious. And much needed after finishing two take-home tests today.
So starting tomorrow at 9am I will officially be on spring break. Which should mean rest and relaxation right? WRONG! I get to drive Coleman to the airport tomorrow at 10:30 so he can go visit his brother in Denver. Then I will be helping bottling some wine.
Saturday, I don't have much to do, but I would like to go on another bike ride, and I desperately need to clean my apartment. Seriously, it's a disaster. Not that that's a surprise.
Sunday, I have Kids Connection at the 9 and 5 services, and will probably attend the 11...or 7...I don't know yet. I will have to decide when I would like to go home.
Monday, I will be home, trying to relax. And study. And write two papers.
Tuesday, jury duty in Merced. Awesome possum. Hopefully I don't actually have to serve.
Wednesday, back to Fresno to pick Coleman up from the airport...hopefully. Otherwise he gets to find his own ride to his apartment, then to Hilmar.
Thursday, going to Monterrey for the day. Going to the aquarium and probably to Pizza my Heart.
Friday, pick up Whitney in Dublin.
Saturday, dye eggs. Hang out with Jeannie (and Stu) and probably Ashley (maybe Forrest?) in the evening.
Sunday, Easter festivities. Egg hunting (the oldest participant is 28, and the youngest is 20). Egg salad sandwich eating. Then dinner, and Kaitlin will be coming back to Fresno with me. She's coming with me to the Phil Wickham/Charlie Hall concert at The Well.

I have been feeling very impatient lately. I don't know what has brought this on. Nor do I know how to get rid of it. It's really starting to weigh me down.
On a lighter note, it's down to me and one other person for the internship in the winery on campus! Mom thinks I should make brownies for John and bribe him. I'd like to think I'm above that, but maybe I should. If I don't get the internship it won't be the end of the world. It would mean that I could graduate, but I still wouldn't have enough experience to go out into the real world yet. There's a store that opened in Clovis not that long ago which makes labels for bottles of wine for special events (weddings, reunions, etc). I think I could work there, if they're hiring.
The other night I started wondering whether this is what I want to do with my life. I would love nothing more than to be a full-time household manager, like my mom has been. We will see if that can even be an option.
Which brings me back to my impatience. Why am I thinking about kids when I don't even have a ring? I feel dumb, and silly, and generally like the type of girl that I do not want to be. You know, the one that pressures the guy that she's with, until he pulls away and she's left wondering what she did. The girl that makes dumb comments like "I won't cut my hair until my wedding", when her boyfriend lives far away, and the only communication they have is the phone, then he breaks up with her when he moves back home. Not that I am saying that, or pressuring Coleman. But I have been thinking about it alot lately, and I don't know why it started. I don't know anyone that recently got engaged or married. Except Pete and Marissa. But their wedding was several months ago, and I only started thinking about this in the last month and a half.
I think that's enough ranting.

Photography

I have recently discovered a love of photography. I don't have a fancy camera or anything, and I haven't had the time to take the photography class on campus. But I've been taking my camera to class with me and stopping and taking pictures, like the poppies above. When I went home for Kaitlin's birthday I took some pictures of daffodils and the almond tree with Mr. Flitterbee (the hummingbird).

I wish I could have zoomed in more on the hummingbird.

Sunny Day, chasing the clouds away!

So I've been bringing my camera with me to my wine microbiology lab so I can take pictures of the organisms to memorize for the practical in May. And I could not pass up the opportunity to take some pictures on my way home. They turned out pretty well if I do say so myself!
I tried to take a picture with the mountains in the background...

Then tried to take a close up of the nodes...

still trying to focus...

That's better!

Happy V-Day!

So this was dessert for Valentine's Dinner. Friday night Coleman cooked a very nice dinner for me. Filet with a red wine sauce. Sauteed mushrooms and asparagus. "Valentine's salad" (spring mix lettuce+ strawberries+strawberry vinegrette). Loaf of bread. Baked potatoes(were not ready in time for dinner, but we had them as leftovers the next day). I was put in charge of dessert. Brownies with cream cheese frosting, and heart shaped red hots and conversation hearts. Surprisingly, there's still a little bit of leftover frosting.
We ate dinner by candlelight(mostly). You know the bunny shaped glittery candles we got in our easter baskets last year??? That was all he had! At least one of them was pink!

New roommates?

I'm terrible at this.
I may be looking for an roommates or a place to live in a few months. Not entirely sure about it though. Word on the street is that my roommates have been asked to move in with a friend of theirs. I haven't heard it from them, but they aren't exactly the type of people that would keep me in the loop. They would tell me about the week before they move out. So when Ally gets back tomorrow I will ask them both about it. It's okay if they do want to move out, I would just like enough notice to figure out what I'll do.
I'll try to get better at updating this. No promises.
